It's expected to be the most watched television event in recent history. The Royal Wedding, just days away, will be seen by over 2 billion people from around the world, and I for one can't wait to see what Kate will be wearing.

A few days ago, I experienced a preview of the big day at the Royal ParTea, along with 125 invited guests right here in Ottawa. I never pass up an opportunity to get dolled up!

The Royal ParTea took place at the Canadian Museum of Nature, in the fourth-floor gallery, where we were treated to champagne and delicious treats and tea from Thyme & Again Creative Catering.

The event was a $250 a ticket fundraiser for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation and featured a silent auction and fashion show showcasing Kate Middleton inspired fashions from St Laurent Shopping Centre.

The Governor General's footguards were front and centre at the tea as well, adding to the pomp and circumstance, and of course, I just had to have my picture taken with the guards.

CTV's Carol Ann Meehan hosted the event, and Canada's very own Jeanne Beker ‚Ä" practically royalty herself ‚Ä" was the guest speaker.

Beker talked about her life and career, and we were given the inside scoop on her upcoming trip to London, where she'll be reporting on the entire Royal Wedding across the street from Westminster Abbey.

Beker, who has been hosting Fashion Television on CTV for over 25 years, was also on hand to sign her new book, Finding Myself In Fashion, with $5 from each book sold going to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.

Guests left with gift bags filled with products from Crabtree and Evelyn, Pandora, Dior, and Lush. Over $20,000 was raised at the charitable afternoon tea, which was the very best part of the day.
