Mikaza Home opened its second location on April 15 with a "private shopping night" that offered beverages, hors d ' oeuvres by Bacci Bistro and special discounts. The event was attended by 250 people and helped raise money for the United Way and Centraide Outaouais. The new location, called Maison Mikaza, is located in old Hull and measures 5,300 square feet. The new store specializes in modern furniture, lighting, décor and hip home accents. "We really wanted to go with a minimalist space in order to emphasis the furniture," says Mikaza co-owner Mihran Zaroukian . "We cleared out most of the existing walls and opened up the space. With 14-foot floor-to-ceiling windows, we get a lot of natural light. The space has a warehouse-loft feel. The building was originally a bank, so there is a huge vault in the middle of the showroom. We’re planning to use it for something special down the road." Mikaza ' s original boutique shop on Bank Street will continue to offer samples of their collections as well as unique décor items.
