The Naked Room will be dressed and revealed Sept. 28 at the show, which will be held at the CE Centre. The room is part of the Home and Design Show's Naked Room contest. One lucky winner will end up with over $10,000 worth of La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery furnishings.
The Inspiration
We’ve heard where Ottawans lean with their decorating styles, and we are putting it together in an inspiring space. Decor will follow 2012 fall home fashion colours; glimpse the colour palette for the naked room by visiting www.pantone.com (the standardized colour matching system).

By using a classic grey with warm undertones, I created a timeless canvas on which to paint brilliant accent colours. Saturated blues and violet tones mix subtly with the grey, giving way to a quiet calmness.
Raspberry juxtaposed with a hint of summer squash presents a burst of colour that brightens Ottawa’s cold, colourless winters. Bold floral accents and occasional chairs give permission to have fun with design.
Wood finishes are trending to a natural weathered feel. Combined with glass and muted metals, a sleek city vibe emerges. Textural elements add another layer of interest.
I have a passion for colour! What does your inner colour sense tell you?
Think about curling up with a good book in the room you create, and don't forget to celebrate your colour!
